Welcome to Aswan – Philae Temple, High Dam & Unfinished Obelisk

Discover one of Egypt's most significant modern achievements. Built in the 1960s, the dam tamed the mighty Nile and created Lake Nasser, one of the world's largest man-made lakes.

Philae Temple
Set on Agilkia Island, this serene temple dedicated to the goddess Isis is only reachable by boat. Its picturesque location, detailed reliefs, and dramatic history make it one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt.

Unfinished Obelisk
Explore the ancient granite quarries and see the largest obelisk ever attempted, still lying in situ. This site offers a unique glimpse into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques.

Don't miss the nearby museum with real mummified crocodiles.

Continue sailing to Edfu with lunch on board.
